The team at RecyTrust had developed a platform that combines IoT and Smart Contracts using blockchain. This adds immense value to their ecosystem by increasing visibility, efficiency and seamless data flow. They got in touch with us to figure out how to monetise waste management in the city of Athens, Greece.
There were three main objectives:
Objective 1: Compliance and Business Model
They needed a sustainable business model focused on generating subscriptions from corporate companies for smart garbage bins.
Objective 2: Initial Operations Automation
They wanted an intuitive, easy-to-use and efficient website to track data through their MIS. They also wanted an app that made the lives of refuse disposal experts easier.
Objective 3: Internet of Things (IoT)
The prototype needed to calculate the weight of each refuse collection bin to the nearest multiple of ten. It also had to be robust enough to handle outdoor conditions and rough handling.
We worked extremely closely with the team at RecyTrust to create a prototype that satisfied all their objectives. We started clear feedback loops early on to ensure that no time was wasted in reworking any aspects.
As with every other client that comes to TwoWords, we helped them achieve exactly what they wanted. The project received series A funding of €300,000, based on the prototype we designed.
The goal was to create a prototype that could accurately calculate the weight to the nearest multiple of ten. Furthermore, the scale had to be durable enough to withstand harsh circumstances outdoors and in open environments.
The business model revolves around corporates subscribing to the smart garbage bins that segregate recyclable and non-recyclable waste in different bins. This model is mandatory in most parts of Europe.
